Who We Are

The strength of our clinic at Zen Qi Holistic Health lies in the diversity and passion of our practitioners. We all live and breath healthy lifestyles, with each one of our unique interests adding to a collective pool of experience. Basically, every practitioner brings something unique to the table to create a cohesive team of multi-faceted medical experts. This enables us to provide optimal levels of care for an extremely wide range of medical conditions, especially for those conditions considered to be idiopathic or functional.

Brigette Janson

Brigette Janson is a certified colon hydrotherapist and has been practicing since 1998, when she started a personal journey to heal herself with the help of colon hydrotherapy and a raw food diet. Over the past twelve years Brigette has performed well over 15,000 colonics.Prior to opening up her own business she worked at the renowned Optimum Health Institute for seven years.She is dedicated and strives to create a safe, calm, and enlightened experience for her clients.

She is also proud to have her daughter, Candice, working with her at her practice.
One of the benefits Brigette receives through her work is the reward of watching her clients heal while transforming their health. Her knowledge and experience allow her to provide not only a pleasant, but an educational experience for her clients. She welcomes first-time clients.

Brigette also is certified as a Pilates and Booty Barre Instructor locally at Club Pilates San Diego.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, pilates, yoga, and hitting up farmers markets around town.


Candice DeMars

Candice DeMars is the newest member of the Zen Qi Holistic Health Team. She is a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist and has recently completed her internship under the guidance of Brigette Janson,her mother.

Candice was raised with the emphasis on nutrition, health, and exercise so she decided to follow her mother's footsteps by beginning her own journey in alternative health. She is extremely excited on her new path as a Colon-Hydrotherapist and is eager to assist her clients on their journey to better health."

Ruja Nothaft, CCH

Ruja faced a life threatening condition and decided to complement her medical treatment with homeopathy, which she knew little about at that time. This led her to realize the great potential of homeopathy in healing chronic conditions as well as acute situations. She supported her health during chemotherapy and radiation with homeopathy and for years has used homeopathy to improve her health, prevent a recurrence of her cancer and detox the effects of all the medications. She found out how homeopathy can be instrumental in helping her children, including her child with special needs and her grandchildren. She was able to help her daughter during pregnancy and childbirth and was able to help her grandchildren from the moment of birth.

She completed her homeopathic studies at the Homeopathic Academy of Southern California. She has been nationally certified as a Classical Homeopath by the Center for Homeopathic Certification. She is a professional member of the National Center for Homeopathy. She traveled to Haiti with Homeopaths without Borders to help establish homeopathy as a viable clinical form of healing. She assisted with the theoretical and clinical education of local homeopaths. She has been certified in CEASE Therapy for the treatment of vaccination damage and autism. She uses Dr. Tinus Smits, MD protocols for detox and drainage of chronic issues resulting from medications or diseases or environmental toxins. She continued her education in this vast field with masters such as Dr. Massimo Mangialavori, Karen Allen, Dr Luc de Schepper. She has been trained in the used of homeopathy for dermatological issues by Lynn Amara. She has extensive training in women’s health in areas such as Menstrual irregularities, PCOS, Fibroids, Endometriosis, HPV. She has been trained in Gemmotherapy, which she uses as an adjunct for drainage therapy.

All of the above personal experiences and professional training help her be a compassionate, knowledgeable homeopath, who understands the challenge of balancing the conventional medical path with the holistic homeopathic path. She loves families and children and is passionate about healing human pain and suffering. She has a special way of connecting with her clients and supporting them through their healing.


Sonia Reece

Sonia Reece is as a nationally certified massage therapist form the School of Healing Arts in Portland OR. Her sessions are transformative, grounding, and healing!

Sonia offers customized treatments that may include la stone techniques, deep tissue, myofascial release, reflexology, crystal chakra balancing, reiki, and thai massage. Sonia also offers prenatal, postnatal, and infant ayurvedic massage.

Sonia discovered natural medicine after she sustained a serious spinal injury caused by a snowboarding accident. Sonia healed her injury through yoga, alternative healing modalities and proper nutrition.

She is the mother of an ecstatic Bi-lingual toddler, Eli-jah, whom she birthed at home through natural childbirth and is raising him through loving, conscious centered and natural parenting techniques.

Sonia has kept active through competitive swimming, weight lifting, dancing, surfing, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and in the last eight years has delved into Yoga.

In 2004, she discovered The Yoga Shala of Portland, and completed a 400 hour training in Yoga Philosophy, Therapeutics, Teaching Methodology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pranayama, Meditation, while also cultivating a daily practice.

Sonia's hunger for natural medicine and desire to connect deeply to the earth's wisdom allowed her to receive the teachings of Medicinal Herbs and Sacred Earth Medicine. In 2006, Sonia completed two years with the Northwest School of Earth Medicine, where she learned ancient Lakota teachings and practices that she currently integrates into her life. She also creates botanical medicine, lotion, and topical salves from wild crafted herbs.

Margo Cohen

Margo Cohen is a San Diego homeopath who serves San Diego and the surrounding communities. Her practice is conveniently located near the 5 Freeway, at the Zen Qi holistic clinic. Margo has been a homeopathic practitioner with Zen Qi since 2012 and previously with San Diego Homeopathy for 3 years. Conditions she commonly treats include: Allergies, anxiety, constipation, hormonal imbalance, osteoporosis, recurring colds/flu and coughs, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Depression, Thyroid dysfunction, Margo's specialty is in woman's health, infants and children.

She is a graduate of the Homeopathic Academy of Southern California, a three year comprehensive training program in classical homeopathy.

Margo brings a unique quality to her San Diego homeopathic practice with a strong nursing and science background. She has worked as a registered nurse for 10 years and graduated Cume Laude with Distinction from San Diego Sate University Nursing Program. She is a native Spanish speaker and brings and extensive multi-cultural experience to her practice.
